At some point as a government contractor, you will consider applying for the 8a certification program. Many people in my community have been asking when to apply? Do they qualify?
The 8a certification is unlike any of the other certifications. It’s not a certification that you will apply for, receive, and then recertify every one to two years. It’s a one shot hit or miss.
Nine years. That is the amount of time you are allowed to stay in the 8a certification program once you’re approved to be in the program.
I can not urge you enough to make sure you are ready, positioned to maximize your time in the 8a program before applying.
